Early life and career

Christopher Rosario was born on January 28, 1979, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, specifically in the East Side neighborhood, which he now represents in the state legislature. Rosario is of Puerto Rican descent, with both of his parents hailing from Aibonito, Puerto Rico. His early interest in public service was influenced by notable political figures, particularly through an encounter with former President Bill Clinton during an MTV event aimed at engaging young voters. This experience, which included meeting Clinton on two occasions, helped shape Rosario's aspirations in politics.

Before entering the Connecticut House of Representatives, Rosario gained valuable experience in local governance. He worked as a legislative liaison for the Bridgeport City Council, where he developed a close relationship with his mentor, Andres Ayala. This mentorship proved pivotal in Rosario's political development, as he played a significant role in Ayala's campaigns for both the state representative and state senate positions. Following this experience, Rosario was appointed as the director of blight for the City of Bridgeport under Mayor Bill Finch. In 2016, he was appointed chair of the Connecticut Legislative Black and Puerto Rican Caucus, becoming the first Latino from Bridgeport to hold this position.
