Stan Gunter was born on May 25, 1959, in Habersham County, Georgia. He spent his formative years in this region and completed his secondary education at Habersham Central High School located in Mount Airy. Following high school, Gunter pursued higher education at North Georgia College, which has since been renamed the University of North Georgia.
