Early life and career

Scott Lewis was born on June 2, 1961. He completed his secondary education at Stuart High School before pursuing higher education at the University of Louisville, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. His commitment to public service is reflected in his completion of the Kentucky State Police Academy in Frankfort, which prepared him for a career in law enforcement.

Lewis began his professional journey as a Kentucky State Trooper in Daviess County, where he served the community in a law enforcement capacity. His career in education began after his time in law enforcement, where he took on various roles including teacher, coach, and principal. His dedication to education led him to become the superintendent of Hancock County Schools in 2006, a position he held for six years. In 2012, he transitioned to a similar role as the superintendent of Ohio County Schools, where he continued to influence the educational landscape until his resignation on December 31, 2018, shortly after being elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives.

In addition to his roles in education and law enforcement, Lewis is an entrepreneur, owning and operating a storage unit rental company.
