John Damoose

John Damoose is an American politician and television producer currently serving as a member of the Michigan State Senate, representing the 37th district. A member of the Republican Party, he took office on January 1, 2023, succeeding Wayne Schmidt following a redistricting process. Early life and career

John Damoose was born on February 5, 1972. He completed his secondary education at Ernest W. Seaholm High School in Birmingham, Michigan. Following high school, he pursued higher education at the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1994. After graduating from college, Damoose began his professional career in the media industry. He worked for the Christian Broadcasting Network in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he gained experience in television production. His role as a producer on the program "The 700 Club" further developed his skills in media and storytelling. In 1997, Damoose returned to Michigan and co-founded 45 North Productions with his father. This company focused on producing television specials that highlighted significant aspects of American history.
