Tim Walz

Tim Walz is an American politician and educator who has served as the 41st governor of Minnesota since 2019. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), he previously represented Minnesota's 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019. Timothy James Walz was born on April 6, 1964, in West Point, Nebraska. He is the son of Darlene Rose Reiman, a homemaker, and James Frederick Walz, a teacher and school superintendent who served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Walz's family background is diverse, with German, Swedish, Luxembourgish, and Irish ancestry. His great-great-grandfather emigrated from Germany to the United States in 1867.
