Ron Latz

Ron Latz is an American attorney and politician currently serving as a member of the Minnesota State Senate, representing District 46. Early life and career

Ron Latz was born on August 9, 1963. He completed his secondary education at Golden Valley High School in Golden Valley and later attended Lindbergh High School in Hopkins, graduating in 1981. Following high school, Latz pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1985. He continued his academic journey at Harvard Law School, obtaining his Juris Doctor in 1988.

After completing his education, Latz began his professional career in public service. He served as an assistant attorney general in Minnesota from 1989 to 1995, focusing on the Public Safety and Human Services Division under Attorney General Hubert Humphrey III. This role provided him with valuable experience in legal matters and public policy. Following his tenure as an assistant attorney general, he became a partner at the St. Louis Park law firm of Latz and Latz.

In addition to his legal career, Latz has been involved in various community and governmental organizations. He served on the St. Louis Park City Council from 1994 to 2003, where he also held the position of mayor pro tem from 1999 to 2003. His commitment to public service extended beyond local governance; he participated in several task forces and committees, including those focused on health care and privacy under the Minnesota Attorney General's office.
