After completing his naval service, Wilson began his professional journey in the banking sector. He started at Lebanon Citizens National Bank (LCNB) in an entry-level position as a teller. Over the years, he advanced through the ranks and ultimately became the CEO of both LCNB Corp. and Lebanon Citizens National Bank. Under his leadership, the bank expanded significantly, growing from serving two local communities to over 30 across nine counties in Ohio. Wilson remains active in the banking sector as a board member of LCNB.

In addition to his banking career, Wilson has held various leadership positions in several organizations. He served as the chair of the American Bankers Association and the Ohio Bankers Association. His involvement in local business and community affairs includes serving as the president of the Warren County Chamber of Commerce and the vice-chair of Otterbein Senior Life. He has also contributed to the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland as a board member and has been involved with Miami University as a trustee.
